Posted on Dec 20, 2024

Keiron Printing Technologies is a spin-off from TNO in collaboration with HighTechXL. We are developing printing equipment, using laser-based technology that has been researched at Holst Centre for 10+ years.

We’re driven by innovation, and we’re on the lookout for a Manufacturing Engineer who shares our passion for working in a dynamic startup environment. If you’re a versatile, proactive, and technically skilled individual who enjoys a broad range of tasks and takes ownership of their work, you might be the perfect fit for our team.

The system:

The system contains a laser with scanning mirrors, a stage, cameras, and several other critical modules, which are controlled using a PC based architecture. Main programming language is C#. The equipment will be installed in a fully automated production environment where an operator still interacts with the system.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Manufacturing Engineer to oversee the production of critical core modules internally while managing relationships with system suppliers responsible for manufacturing and assembly of our LIFT (Laser-Induced Forward Transfer) printing equipment. This dual-focus role bridges external supplier management with hands-on involvement in the production of high-precision components integral to the system’s performance.

You will play a key role in ensuring the seamless integration of internally produced modules with externally manufactured components while driving quality, efficiency, and innovation in both domains.

Key Responsibilities:

Improving Design and Production with DFX Principles: Work with internal and external teams to apply DFX principles, making designs easier to manufacture, assemble, and test. Share insights between in-house production and suppliers to improve designs, boost quality, and keep everything aligned with performance and scalability goals.

Process Oversight and Quality Control: Monitor and evaluate supplier manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with specifications and performance standards and conduct supplier audits, review production metrics, and drive corrective actions for quality issues.

Process Optimization: Continuously improve internal manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, precision, and scalability.

Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with system suppliers, ensuring alignment on technical requirements, quality expectations, and delivery timelines and act as the primary technical liaison to address and resolve manufacturing challenges at supplier facilities.

Team Collaboration: Be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Share knowledge, communicate effectively, and foster a positive and productive team dynamic to achieve our common goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: • Proven experience in both supplier collaboration and in-house manufacturing of precision components and strong understanding of quality assurance, process optimization, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Hands-on mentality: • Experience with assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of high-precision systems.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document processes clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Access to cutting-edge technology and research facilities.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continued education.
  • Collaborative team-oriented culture with like-minded professionals.
  • Potential for career growth within the organization.
