Summary:
QuiX Quantum GmbH is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead our innovative team in the development and commercialization of next-generation quantum technologies. The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives, oversee complex research projects, and manage an international, multidisciplinary team to achieve long-term business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage research projects, maintaining regular customer interactions and compiling action plans and technical reports.
- Oversee long-term development cycles, balancing short-term revenue with long-term strategic goals.
- Guide product development by collaborating with executive leadership to create roadmaps and set milestones.
- Provide leadership and motivation to an international team of physicists, engineers, and business developers.
- Simplify complex quantum physics concepts for diverse stakeholders including investors, partners, and customers.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently, including laboratory equipment and cloud resources.
- Drive talent acquisition efforts in a competitive, specialized field of quantum technology.
- Ensure legal compliance and manage intellectual property, including patents and export laws.
- Foster partnerships with universities, research institutions, and industry partners.
- Define and execute the company's vision and strategy for the next 3–5 years.
- Monitor market trends and position QuiX Quantum strategically within the competitive landscape.
- Assess technological risks in collaboration with the executive team.
- Engage in investor relations and fundraising activities to secure necessary capital and funding.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Photonics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years experience managing complex, multi-million-dollar research projects.
- Extensive experience building and leading international research teams.
- Strong understanding of quantum computing fundamentals, including algorithms and hardware architectures.
- Knowledge of intellectual property strategies related to quantum technologies.
- Familiarity with export control and security regulations affecting quantum technologies.
- Insight into government initiatives and funding opportunities in quantum technology.
- Awareness of the competitive landscape and technical challenges in quantum computing.
