About Us
QuantWare is the world's leading manufacturer of superconducting quantum hardware. As a high growth start-up with a global customer base, our mission is to accelerate the advent of the quantum computer. We push the boundaries of what's possible in our field. We work on making the world’s largest quantum processors, as fast as possible.
At QuantWare, we’re not just producing quantum hardware for the hyperscalers of tomorrow; we’re working on technology that will change the world. To make that ambition a reality, we need exceptional people who drive real impact. That’s where you come in.
As a TWPA R&D Engineer at QuantWare, you will take ownership of the technical development and performance improvement of our Josephson Travelling Wave Parametric Amplifiers. You will push the performance of our qubit readout amplifiers to their physical limits by providing the technical direction of our full development loop. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, including qubit and TWPA designers and experimental engineers and will collaborate closely with other teams.
What you’ll be doing:
Develop next-generation quantum amplifiers for qubit readout. Research directions include extending bandwidth, improving noise performance, and integration of peripheral functions like pump coupling and isolation.
Depending on your background and skillset, you will contribute directly to theory, design, fabrication and/or measurement of quantum amplifiers and readout circuits.
Present findings and technical proposals clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, influencing roadmap and product decisions.
Stay informed of relevant literature and state-of-the-art techniques in parametric amplification, actively contributing new ideas and approaches to the team.
Your profile
You don’t need to tick every box, but if most of these apply, we’d love to hear from you:
Passionate about qubit readout amplification. You enjoy pushing amplifier performance to the physical limits and thrive in a fast R&D environment.
PhD or equivalent industry experience in quantum-limited amplification, parametric amplifiers (e.g. TWPAs, JPAs), or closely related superconducting microwave circuits.
Hands-on experience with at least some aspects of the development cycle—such as design, simulation, fabrication, or cryogenic measurement—and ability to collaborate across the rest.
Proven ability to independently drive technical development, structure priorities, and solve open-ended problems. Track record of independent, creative problem-solving in a research and development setting.
-
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical findings and influence decisions across disciplines.
What We Offer:
At QuantWare, you’ll be part of a high-performing team of world-class experts in an ambitious, fast-moving environment. From day one, you’ll have the trust, tools, and support to do your best work. Here’s what you can expect:
Competitive salary - A competitive monthly salary, plus an 8% annual holiday bonus paid out each May
Pension that’s built to last - A future-proof pension plan that includes partner and dependent coverage. QuantWare covers 63% of the premium
