Our mission
QuantWare is the world's leading manufacturer of superconducting quantum hardware. As a high growth start-up with a global customer base, our mission is to accelerate the advent of the quantum computer. We push the boundaries of what's possible in our field. We work on making the world’s largest quantum processors, as fast as possible.

At QuantWare, we’re not just producing quantum hardware for the hyperscalers of tomorrow; we’re working on technology that will change the world. To make that ambition a reality, we need exceptional people who drive real impact. That’s where you come in.
Impact of the role
QuantWare is looking for a Multi-Qubit Measurement Engineer to help push the performance of our most advanced quantum processors. In this role, you’ll play a leading role in the measurement and optimisation of large multi-qubit QPUs, delivering data that demonstrates their capabilities and informs product improvements.
What you'll be doing

You'll be part of our measurement team and work closely with product development and R&D to design experiments, optimise tuning procedures, refine measurement protocols, and extract performance insights from multi-qubit devices. This role is ideal for a hands-on experimentalist with direct experience tuning superconducting multi-qubit processors, and a desire to play a central role in scaling up quantum hardware.

Key Responsabilities:
  • Advanced Measurement Protocols: Develop and refine measurement protocols to advance quantum gate and readout fidelities, contributing to the overall performance of quantum devices.

  • QPU Performance Demonstration: Tune up new, large QPUs to demonstrate their performance in advanced experiments and benchmarks.

  • Data-Driven Feedback: Provide data-driven feedback to engineering teams based on measurement insights, ensuring seamless integration of experimental results into the development cycle.

What we offer
  • The opportunity to perform cutting-edge work on advanced quantum processing units.

  • Ownership of setups in a state-of-the-art cryogenic lab, with the chance to innovate and expand their capabilities.

  • A collaborative, international environment at the forefront of quantum technology, working alongside world-class experts.

  • Significant opportunities for growth, project ownership, and career development.

  • Flexible vacation policy, competitive benefits (including a pension scheme and travel allowances), and engaging team activities.

Your profile

Education:

  • Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, OR

  • Master's Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment.

Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in multi-qubit tune-up of superconducting quantum processors. Direct experience with advanced components like tunable couplers is a strong plus.

  • In-depth knowledge of superconducting qubits.

  • Proficiency in Python programming for experiment automation; experience with frameworks like Quantify, QCoDeS, or similar is a plus.

Skills:

  • Proven ability to design and execute complex experiments with precision and reproducibility.

  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail in both experimental and operational aspects of the role.

  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and a collaborative mindset to work effectively across disciplines.
