About Ore Energy

At Ore Energy, we are developing long-duration, utility-scale iron-air batteries to provide safe, low-cost, multi-day energy storage. Having raised over €60 million from leading climate and energy investors and demonstrated our technology under real-world utility conditions, we are now entering our next phase of growth: financing our industrial scale-up, developing our gigafactory, and deploying multi-day storage across grid-scale markets.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board, shareholders, and executive leadership team, you will own Ore Energy’s overarching financing strategy and transaction execution.

In this hands-on, strategic finance role, you will lead equity raises, structure corporate and gigafactory debt, and establish bankable project financing for commercial battery deployments. You will own the company’s financial model, translating commercial, engineering, and manufacturing roadmaps into compelling investment cases for sophisticated global capital markets.

  • Financing Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute an integrated capital strategy across equity, debt, project finance, public funding, guarantees, and grants.

  • Equity Fundraising: Lead equity fundraising rounds from investor positioning and engagement through deal negotiation and closing.

  • Debt & Project Finance: Structure and close corporate, gigafactory, and project-level financing.

  • Investor & Lender Relations: Build and maintain strategic relationships with institutional investors, commercial banks, export credit agencies (ECAs), development finance institutions (DFIs), and infrastructure capital providers.

  • Financial Modeling & Analytics: Own and defend the company’s corporate financial model and investment cases before the Board, shareholders, and external counterparties.

  • Bankable Commercial Structuring: Translate engineering, manufacturing, and deployment plans into scalable, bankable commercial and project financing structures.

  • Transaction & Advisor Management: Select and manage external financial, legal, and tax advisors while retaining direct internal ownership of all deal processes.

  • Strategic Advisory: Provide high-level financial guidance to the CEO, leadership team, and Board to steer business strategy and growth.

  • Financial Capability & Governance: Build the core finance capabilities, internal controls, systems, and reporting structures required for a rapidly scaling industrial company.

  • Experience: 10+ years of strategic finance, corporate finance, or capital markets experience within energy, infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, climate technology, or another capital-intensive sector.

  • Track Record: Proven success raising equity and structuring/closing complex corporate debt, gigafactory, or project finance transactions.

  • Financial Modeling: Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to rigorously build, stress-test, and defend complex financial assumptions.

  • Ecosystem Expertise: Deep understanding of capital markets and institutional due diligence, with established experience engaging investors, banks, ECAs, DFIs, or infrastructure funds.

  • Transaction Management: Strong negotiation skills and hands-on transaction management capabilities.

  • Bridge Between Tech & Finance: Ability to seamlessly connect engineering, operational, and commercial plans to financing requirements and financial outcomes.

  • Mindset: Entrepreneurial, commercially minded, and eager to operate hands-on in a fast-paced scale-up environment.

  • Languages: Professional fluency in English is required; Dutch or other European languages are a strong advantage.

  • Mobility: Willingness to travel as needed for investor meetings, transaction negotiations, and project development activities.
