People & Culture Partner
People & HR
Amsterdam, Netherlands
At Ore Energy, we are on a mission to fundamentally expand the amount of energy society can reliably harness and use, helping move civilization toward a more abundant energy future. We are doing this by developing long-duration, utility-scale iron-air batteries that provide safe, low-cost, multi-day energy storage for electricity grids and data centers.
As we move from breakthrough technology pilots toward large-scale industrial implementation and scalable production, our team is growing rapidly. We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and human-centric People & Culture Partner to join our team in Amsterdam and own our internal people operations.
Working closely with leadership and our dedicated Talent Acquisition Partner, you will take full ownership of the employee journey after a candidate signs their offer letter. Blending high-level HR strategy with hands-on compliance and day-to-day execution, you will design the people playbook from the ground up as we prepare to scale our physical footprint.
This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Employee Lifecycle Ownership: Design, scale, and execute all internal HR operations from day-one onboarding, relocation logistics, and contract management to offboarding.
Dutch Labor Law & CAO Compliance: Act as the internal expert on Dutch employment law (Arbeidsrecht) and sick-leave protocols (Wet Verbetering Poortwachter). Assess, implement, and maintain compliance with relevant Collective Labor Agreements (CAOs) as we scale our industrial workforce.
Culture & Engagement: Champion Ore Energy’s values, developing targeted initiatives that foster collaboration, psychological safety, and a high-performance culture across our international team.
Performance & Career Development: Implement and facilitate structured performance management systems, continuous feedback loops, and internal career development pathways.
Comp & Benefits Administration: Oversee local payroll inputs, health insurance administration, the Dutch 30% ruling applications, and the future rollout of critical company benefits (including our upcoming pension scheme).
Leadership Advisory: Act as a strategic sparring partner for line managers and executive leadership, providing clear guidance on team design, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience within a fast-growing scale-up, startup, or dynamic industrial/tech environment, ideally with experience leading or owning the local HR function.
Legal & CAO Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of Dutch labor law (Arbeidsrecht), sick-leave protocols (Poortwachter), local compliance standards, and Dutch collective labor frameworks (CAOs).
Scale-Up Mindset: Highly comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities. You enjoy switching seamlessly between high-level organizational planning and granular administrative tasks.
Linguistic Skills: Professional fluency in both Dutch and English (written and spoken) is an absolute requirement to effectively navigate local legal frameworks and support our highly international team.
Collaboration Style: Exceptional communication and listening skills. You know how to build trust quickly across a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and commercial professionals.
