We're now looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam: a customer-focused technical expert who’s ready to drive tailored solutions, support the full sales cycle, and represent Optics11 across international markets.

Optics11 is an Amsterdam-based high-tech scale-up company on a mission to innovate underwater security and put Netherlands on the map of European sonar industry. Our novel fiberoptic technology is redefining underwater security, enabling advanced sonar solutions for safeguarding of key naval and underwater infrastructure. Our high-paced development has been met with an ever-growing interest from the market, with selection of our towed array technology for the new generation of Dutch submarines being the latest testament to our progress. As we transition towards commercial deployments, we are seeking ambitious, mission-driven professionals to join us in shaping the next chapter of our growth and success.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for prospective and existing customers, understanding their application requirements and translating them into viable product solutions.

  • Deliver compelling technical presentations, and respond to RFQs with tailored proposals.

  • Assist the sales team throughout the sales cycle, from lead qualification to post-sale support, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

  • Make proposals, quotes, RFI/RFQ, calculations etc.

  • Represent Optics11 at international trade shows, conferences, and technical workshops, providing live demos and technical insights.

Job requirements

What We’re Looking For?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field.

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical sales or applications engineering role (experience with fiber optic sensors or photonics is a plus).

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technologies to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong communication skills in English, Dutch is a big plus.

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive, problem-solving attitude. And affinity with project and stakeholder management.

  • Eligibility to obtain NATO/Dutch security clearance.

You'll be working with clients in the defence and security sectors, obtaining a Certificate of No Objection issued by the AIVD (Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service) is mandatory.
